Here&#8217;s how to avoid the rejections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why DDP is the default for FBA<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Amazon <strong>will not<\/strong> be the importer of record or clear customs for you. So the goods must arrive already cleared and duty-paid \u2014 which is exactly what <strong>DDP<\/strong> provides. Your forwarder delivers cleared cartons to the FBA dock, and Amazon receives them as domestic stock. This is why &#8220;DDP to FBA&#8221; is the standard phrasing. Each box needs:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the <strong>FBA shipment label<\/strong> (from Seller Central) on every carton,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a <strong>scannable<\/strong> barcode (no smudges, no overlapping labels),<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and correct <strong>box content<\/strong> data uploaded before arrival.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mislabeled or unreadable cartons are a top rejection cause. Print on adhesive labels, not paper taped over \u2014 they peel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Carrier appointments<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Most FBAreceive centers require a <strong>delivery appointment<\/strong>. Your forwarder or carrier books a window; show up outside it and you may be turned away or charged a fee. Build the appointment into the transit plan \u2014 a shipment that arrives before its slot sits in a yard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The rejection traps<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Common reasons Amazon rejects or delays FBA inbound:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Label errors<\/strong> \u2014 missing, duplicated, or unscannable FBA labels.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Wrong address \/ dock<\/strong> \u2014 shipping to a closed or incorrect FC.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Mixed shipments<\/strong> \u2014 two FBA shipments in one container without separation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Overweight\/oversized cartons<\/strong> \u2014 exceeding Amazon&#8217;s carton limits.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Missing PO \/ ASN<\/strong> \u2014 advance info not uploaded in Seller Central.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Damaged packaging<\/strong> \u2014 cartons arriving crushed from poor <a href=\"\/fcl-vs-lcl\/\">LCL consolidation<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each rejection means reshipping or reimbursement headaches. Past ~15 CBM, <a href=\"\/fcl-vs-lcl\/\">FCL<\/a> is cheaper and lower-risk for a single FBA shipment. Either way, seal and label properly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">FAQ<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Can Amazon clear customs for me?<\/strong><br>\nNo. That&#8217;s why DDP (or your own broker under DDU) is required \u2014 Amazon receives domestic, cleared goods only.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What if a carton is rejected?<\/strong><br>\nAmazon may accept the rest and flag the problem carton; you&#8217;ll coordinate a removal or return with the forwarder. Prevention via the checklist is far cheaper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Do I need a forwarder for FBA, or can I use a carrier?<\/strong><br>\nA carrier gets it to the port; you&#8217;d still need clearance, trucking, and the appointment.
